I got a new phone number that was previously owned by a guy who had every debt collector in the county looking for him. So, imagine my surprise when one day I am added into a group chat with all of his friends planning a get together. Someone asked "why did you add so-and-so's old number?" My time to drop in. I shot off a text saying, "yeah, I've been dealing with so-and-so's unfinished business. Sounds like a fun get-together. Would you tell so-and-so that at least three credit card companies are looking for him, and to call his grandmother because she reached out about a month ago?" One of them didn't miss a beat and gave me his new number, so I started answering those collection calls and passing on his new number. Been silent ever since.

First Story: That random guy is a hypocrite. Imagine calling OP and his coworker an asshole for doing the exact same thing he is doing. Shout out to the waitress for playing along 😂😂😂😂

A friend of mine was renting but in the process of buying his first house. They found a place they liked and made an offer which was accepted. However the seller kept asking for extensions so he could find a house. This cost my friend more money in rental of course. so after about 6 months he said to his solicitor "ask him to take five grand off the price or he can keep the house." Of course the seller refused so he pulled out of the sale immediately. Later his solicitor called him and said he had the best conversation with the seller. Apparently he was apoplectic at my friend pulling out and was demanding anything he could think of and the solicitor calmly told him that there was nothing he could do about it.

Sending your delivery confirmation to a random number is SO dumb. It'd be really easy for the random person to say, " thank you for calling to confirm. The job was cancelled. I no longer need the order.

It's so weird to me how many people get informed that they are giving someone else's number/email out to businesses and friends, and then get ANGRY when informed. Like ... why would you give out someone else's information for something you want to receive?

I had a phone number in the early 2000s that previously belong to a guy named “3K.” His friends called at very random times looking for “goods.” I kept trying to explain that A. *I* was not 3K, and B. I did not have the goods they were looking for. Eventually, a guy told me he was going to come over and beat my b!tch a$$. I said “see you soon.” Within 48 hours, I got a call from a man who did not identify himself but did assure me I would never get another call for him. I did get one more, about a year later, from a guy who’d moved to Oakland and then back home. I explained the situation and he was very sweet, the only one who ever said “oh, sorry, have a good day, ma’am.”

A very small truck rental company in my town put MY PHONE NUMBER in their ad in 2020. I kept getting calls about the trucks and eventually found out how to contact them to get the ad changed. For some reason they refused to fix it even though the ad wasn't giving them business. After that I told everyone that called that I have no trucks available (which is true) and that I will never have trucks available. Only one guy stopped to ask *WHY* I would never have a truck available so I told him the whole story. He laughed and said he would tell other people not to use that company. Never got a call again. I don’t know if it was a specialized truck or what but i assume that guy got the word out that the company was insane.
