Honestly, I think this episode did a really great job simplifying yet adapting Billy Kaplan's origin story very well/faithfully for the MCU. Adapting the comics very faithfully while also fitting it into the established world and continuity of the MCU seamlessly. Must have been a very tricky thing to pull off, but in my opinion, I think the writers did it very well.
Him running into Alice Wu-Gulliver explains why he was so emotional and upset when she died. He had a really close connection with her on the road, but she was also instrumental in saving him (Billy) when he got his new body. She was one of the first people he encountered.
I think Lilia DID mean to put the sigil on William, she wasn’t controlled at all. She didn’t remember afterwards because the sigil works even on the witch who cast it. She doesn’t remember who she casted it for, just that a kid left their jacket in her tent. She doesn’t remember the kid because of the sigil.
I didn't notice how the Witches' Road trials have seemingly matched up to the colors of the Infinity Stones, nice observation.
When you realize Ralph Bohner has appeared in MORE projects in the MCU than the MCU’s QUICKSILVER!
What shocked me most was Lilia being responsible for the sigil. Didn’t see that coming and I think it's so sweet that his first priority is finding his brother and when he asked if he had abilities i thought he was going to say no and run off at super speed lol
I definitely think it was Lilia that placed the sigil on Billy of her own volition; her powers let her see that he (Kaplan) needed protection, and she tried, but Wanda’s hex was _so powerful_ that it ended up going awry and instead hiding Maximoff from everyone after he took over. Also Agatha said earlier that if she’d placed the sigil, she wouldn’t remember because it’s kind of a two-way spell, so it makes sense that Lilia wouldn’t remember.
Remember also Rio said, “Magic takes the path of least resistance.” Billy Kaplan had a magical item on him. So it would be easy to say that since Billy Maximoff was a magical being, it was drawn to the closest magical item in the area, conveniently by an empty vessel for the magical soul to inhabit.
Last time I was this early, Alice was still a cop.
