This is happening in the US as well! The elected & unelected bureaucrats have learned they can pass laws under the guise of safety. This is a complete overreach of government! The rights you give up, you lose forever!

Those willing to trade their liberty for security deserve neither.

Fun fact: We think this is just a European thing, but a massive law passed in Congress (the HALT Act) means the U.S. is quietly pushing for this exact technology too! The government is currently sorting through thousands of public comments and trying to figure out how to combine eye-tracking with "passive blood-alcohol sensors" built into your dashboard or steering wheel. Look it up lol

This is insidious. They start by having it optional and gradually make it a mandatory techno-tyranny. "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." It was originally penned by Benjamin Franklin in 1755

They are trying to do this here too. They say it’s for impaired driving. They were trying to mandate it for all 2027 models, but the car companies were complaining they didn’t have the tech last I heard. People need to pay attention. The US rules would result in your car shutting itself off if it decides you’re impaired.

US has a similar bill that Biden passed in the Infrastructure Bill in 2021. Check it out PBD
