With 10 people on board someone has to know what happened. A pontoon boat doesn't have that many items or equipment on deck to restrict your vision. Something happened and somebody knows.

Whether it was an accident or not, it's hard to believe nobody noticed she was missing for that long. Her family deserves clear answers, not endless uncertainty.

This case happened in my town, only about three minutes from my house. It is very close to home, and this is a small town, so everyone here is talking, wondering, and trying to understand what really happened. What happened to Marley that day should have never happened. I have so many questions, and I know a lot of other residents do too. The hardest part is that so much of the story is speculation right now. There are so many “he said, she said” stories going around, and it is a shame because nobody has definite answers. All the rumors only make it worse for Marley’s family, who already has to live with this nightmare. From what has been going around in our town’s Facebook group, Marley went out on a pontoon boat with around 10 people. Some people are saying they were newer coworkers from a place in the next town over, others say it was just friends of hers, the ones who think it was co workers are now trying to “boycott” the place everyone on the boat worked so that shows you the extent of how far this is going without really knowing who was there. They 100% did go cliff jumping about 45 minutes away from the boat launch, and there are pictures from other boaters that were posted showing her there and participating with the group. After that, the story going around is that they left the cliff jumping area and stopped so Marley could use the bathroom in a “wooded area.” That is where I have so many questions. Women usually run in packs, especially in situations like that. If she needed to use the bathroom, why was she supposedly the only one getting off? If she was going to pee, why not just go in the water and get back on the boat? If she swam to land, did anyone actually see her make it to land? If the boat stopped specifically for Marley, why would they leave that area without making sure she was back on the boat? That is the part I cannot wrap my head around. You are telling me there was a 45-minute boat ride back to land and nobody noticed she was missing? Nobody said anything? Nobody looked around the boat and asked where she was? Nobody stayed in the area? Nobody realized something was wrong until later? And from what people are saying, only one kid said something to the police about her being missing. I do not know what is true and what is not, but that is exactly why people in this town have so many questions. None of it makes sense from the outside looking in. I am not accusing anyone because I was not there and I do not know what happened. I truly hope whatever happened was a tragic accident. But even if it was an accident, there are still so many things that do not add up. If she got off the boat to use the bathroom and something happened, how did nobody see it? If the boat was still moving and she somehow got pulled under or something went wrong, how did nobody feel anything, hear anything, or notice she was not around the boat anymore? If she was supposed to make it to land, how did nobody confirm she actually made it there? I just do not understand it. The town does not understand it. This is a small community, and when something like this happens this close to home, people are going to ask questions. I hate that rumors are spreading because I know it hurts the family even more, but I also understand why people are confused. At the end of the day, Marley’s family deserves real answers. Not rumors. Not speculation. Not people guessing online. Real answers about what happened to her that day.

Even without alcohol involved, when everyone is preoccupied it's so easy to lose track of one person-- then add in alcohol it becomes even more dangerous. I hope the family gets answers!

I live 45 minutes from Grayson Lake, the day after her disappearance Wed, we had 10+ Inches of rain from midnight to Thursday eve. Severe storms rolled through the area causing Power Outages where I live for about 15 hrs. on Thurs., more power outages on Fri. These storms brought sideways rain and strong winds like a hurricane. RUN-OFF FROM MOUNTAINS WILL CLOUD THE WATER SEVERELY.

Thinking about the danger I put myself in on boat parties in my late teens and early 20s…. Sheesh…. Makes me cringe. So sad. 😞
