Description

The end of the Cowboys 49ers game was pretty much just the climax of a leadup of bad time management all season for Dallas. This is a clip from The Pat McAfee Show live from Noon-3PM EST Mon-Fri. A rare case of “It’s not the refs fault.” Dak shoulda handed it to the ref NOT his center. Bone 🦴 headed move

I usually blame the officials for a lot in football. They're incompetent, they don't call games the same way, they clearly favor some teams, whatever. This time, the only person I saw hustling on that last play was the ref. Seemed like the o line from Dallas tried to block him from doing his job, Dak went to the line like he had another 5 minutes to play. The ending of that game was entirely on Dallas.

As a giants fan…please extend McCarthy and bring back Garrett……time management would break the clock

Once McCarthy left GB, the time management problems went away along with him.

As bad as they've been all year with clock managing this was the perfect way for them to finish the year

Been watching football for a long time....literally decades. I've seen a lot of games come to the wire....I literally can't remember a single instance where you run a QB sneak with 14 seconds left. I totally get the idea....get in position to run one good play rather than launch two 50/50 balls in the end zone. My point is that no one does it because there is a huge risk of running out of time. You don't get to complain about the Pitbull biting you in the face when you wear a pork chop around your neck. As for everyone complaining about the ref...was he supposed to hurdle the lineman and Dak? The fact that they didn't even bother to properly spot the f'ing ball tells you that they were doing everything humanly possible to give Dallas an opportunity to run another play. The ref has to spot the ball...it's not just touch it as everyone says. 14 penalties. That's what cost them the game. Deebo Samuel didn't help the Cowboy's cause either.

How about the Cowboys just flat out choke and never deliver in big games? They paid Dak, Zeke and Cooper almost 75 million and they disappear when it matters

Mike McCarthy wasn't wrong when he said that you'd rather have one shot from the 25 than two shots from the 40. The problem is that he was ignoring the context (14 seconds, no time outs, run play), and you can never ignore the context in football.

Crazy how everywhere McCarthy goes: time management all of a sudden becomes a issue, bonehead plays occur in clutch time and his teams never come out ready
