Somebody is purchasing these homes. Matbe we start with a law banning home ownership for non-citizens.
When you let 100 million people in the country over a 40 year period these things happen. 😲
I agree that property taxes are out of control, as is homeowners insurance
NOBODY Owns Their Home in America, you rent it from the government by paying them property tax
Property taxes are a freaking scam. Unconstitutional and should be totally abolished.
Cities also don't want home values to decrease because that decreases their taxes
I pay 700 per month in property tax on my home. I am getting totally ripped off, paying exhobitant lot rent to the government on my own property. How is this even legal?
Who'd have thought that mass migration would cause a housing shortage? I mean how terribly unpredictable.
What gutted me was seeing my childhood home my parents sold in 2020 for 280k being sold for 420k with no upgrades in 2025.
I grew up in a 1,200 sq foot house with both parents and a brother. We were very middle class, though some would probably consider us lower middle class. Dad was an enlisted man in the Army; mom was a secretary working for the State. Vacation was tent camping and renting an old fishing boat for a few days. Cars were used and nothing fancy. But we ate good, homecooked meals and never lacked for anything. Coffee was Folgers in a can. I had a paper route to earn my own pocket money. Somehow, we survived.
