In Sweden we use dill (leaves and flowers) in the water when boiling potatoes, tastes amazing!
Eric, how dare you just assume I am not already growing dill!? Kevin would never.
Dill is lovely in a salad! Mix with sour cream, mayonnaise, a small shallot and use as a sauce with home fries!
Much respect for suggesting seeds you don’t sell. I love to see that you’re still gardener first
I tried something new this year and was wildly successful. I germinated the dill seeds on a paper towel folded over. When sprouted, I just opened up the paper towel and laid it on top of my soil filled planter (paper towel side on top). Sprinkled a little soil on top, watered and now have the best pot of dill ever.
Here is a tip to make your dill to germinate faster. Rinse your seeds with hot water and gently rub them with your fingers. Hot water dissolves dill oil that covers seeds and slows down the germination. Use any kitchen strainer with small holes to drain water. Leave wet dill seeds in a ziplock bag for a few hours or overnight. Then plant your seeds. They will germinate in a few days. I’ve done ot many times so this method works.
I love dill and now plant extra because swallowtail butterflies found my plants last year. 😍
Guy from Poland here. That “bolting” is the secret to our dill pickles (ogórki konserwowe and kiszone). Just wanted to share. Love the channel 🙌🏻
Wow, no joke I literally just got a packet of Dill seeds in the mail not even 30 minutes ago lol… guess this is my sign to sow ASAP!
Dill is amazing on buttered carrots!
