You can’t do hard things and care what people think of you at same time

I was in the Army, went to war a few times, spent a few years in Iraq. My dad wasnt enthused at my choice but he has told me since then that he's very proud of me and glad I came home. I suspect hes in my dad's shoes now. Hope his kids end up fine and he can be proud later as well. Oh! I joined as soon as I could as I watched the towers get hit, so my dad also knew I was going into conflict.
