She wasn't defending him when the cop wanted the ID. She was covering her tracks so the Police wouldn't put two and two together if he was reported missing.
I love that so many people watching never seem to be able to recognize the kidnapped man😭😭
The symbolism of him picking cotton from the chair to be free, the layers in this movie is amazing
The best friend is the best character of that movie, loved him LOL
I just notice the girl and her brother are setting themselves up to continue. She if I recall said she was going into psychiatry like her mother so then she would be able to hypnotize while the brother going into being a doctor like his dad so he would be able to do the surgeries.
The brother kidnapped the man in the beginning. The man was Andre Hayworth. Notice how the brother grabbed him the same exact way after the flash and saying "Get Out". Also even though it was never stated, Rose was the girl Andre was supposed to be meeting when he was kidnapped. Obviously was a setup. The dads tangent about "deer should be extinct" when they first arrived is basically foreshadow and revelation of how synonymously he/they feel about black people. The correlation between hunting deer and actively hunting black people. If you noticed Chris had that moment looking eye to eye with the deer as it was dying, symbolizing the connection. Then as Chris escaped he used the deer head to neutralize the dad. The bingo ordeal is what's referred to as a silent auction. Him using the cotton to stuff his ears was symbolic for the nature of the situation. A black man being captured by r*cists capitalizing off of selling black flesh. As such as in slavery, and ultimately the cotton is what saved him. Ironically, powerful symbolism. The utilization of trauma to subdue him into the "sunken place" is relevant to how we allow trauma to overtake our whole lives and keep us from reaching our fullest potential or rising above to success and betterment. "Allow" might be the wrong word. But notice how by the end he was emotionless and essentially cold. But still that trauma made him make the mistake of stopping to pick up the woman. Compelling symbolism. Theres so smany great little nuggets in this movie. Well written.
Get out will forever be a favorite movie of mine, he told her he didn’t want to end up getting chased with a shotgun and SHE ended up chasing him with a shotgun.
The first and only Blumhouse film to win an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
“My mother loved her kitchen, so we keep a piece of her in here”. Literally!
When the black male worker starts running it was hinting at the fact that he was Rose's grandfather since her grandfather was an Olympic sprinter who lost to a black sprinter...really good foreshadowing. Also Run rabbit, black cars with white passengers, saved by picking at the cotton, the separation of color cereal and white milk, etc.Lotta symbolisms
