With the Scream 7 hype train heating up, the Scream Queens return to their namesake with one of horror's most iconic slashers - and their next franchise marathon - as they embark on their SCREAM Reaction, Recap, Analysis, Breakdown, & Spoiler Review!! Tara Erickson (The Rage Pod) & Roxy Striar (Wildcat) dive into Wes Craven’s (A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Hills Have Eyes) iconic meta-horror film written by Kevin Williamson (The Faculty, I Know What You Did Last Summer). Starring Neve Campbell (Party of Five, The Craft) as Final Girl legend Sidney Prescott, David Arquette (Never Been Kissed) as bumbling but lovable Deputy Dewey, Courteney Cox (Friends, Ace Ventura) as razor-sharp reporter Gale Weathers, Skeet Ulrich (Riverdale) as Billy Loomis, and Matthew Lillard (Hackers, Scooby-Doo) stealing scenes as the unhinged Stu Macher — Scream blends satire, brutality, mystery, and razor-sharp commentary to perfection. Tara & Roxy break down all the groundbreaking moments: the iconic opening sequence with Drew Barrymore that shocked audiences worldwide, the introduction of the horror “rules,” the escalating phone calls from Ghostface, the high-school paranoia that spreads like wildfire, Randy’s meta rants in the video store, the unforgettable party finale, and the jaw-dropping twist reveal of the killers. They explore how Scream revived the slasher genre, blended comedy with terror, and created one of the most memorable villains — and masks — in movie history. #Scream #Scream1996 #Ghostface #WesCraven #SlasherFilm #HorrorClassic #MetaHorror #90sHorror #FinalGirl #WhodunitHorror #MovieReaction #MovieCommentary #FilmReview #HorrorFans #ScreamFranchise #Scream7 #MovieMarathon #React #ReactTo #Reaction Child's Play (1988) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/3K-rYAxy22A A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/YhdLjsizK14 IT (2017) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/7c2uCYk4eUE Halloween (1978) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/e2DwE5ivUqk Misery (1980) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/7O6ka2eA394 Friday the 13th (1980) Movie Reaction: https://youtu.be/pB_bCb6QzUQ 0:00 Checking In! 2:20 Scream Reaction 31:04 ACORNS 32:22 Scream Movie Reaction 1:05:24 Scream Review Follow *Roxy Striar* https://www.instagram.com/roxystriar/?hl=en https://twitter.com/roxystriar Follow *Tara Erickson* https://www.youtube.com/@TaraErickson https://www.instagram.com/taraerickson/ https://twitter.com/thetaraerickson Intense Suspense by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ RR Clips & Shorts Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ReelRejectsClips Follow TheReelRejects On The Socials: https://www.instagram.com/reelrejects/ https://www.tiktok.com/@thereelrejects?lang=en https://twitter.com/thereelrejects https://www.facebook.com/TheReelRejects/ Music Used In Ad: Hat the Jazz by Twin Musicom is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Happy Alley by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Head Editor: https://www.instagram.com/praperhq/?hl=en Supervising Producer: https://twitter.com/nerdchronic?lang=en Co-Editor: Greg Alba Co-Editor: John Humphrey Music In Video: Airport Lounge - Disco Ultralounge by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Follow & Listen to Us Wherever You Get Your Podcasts!! - Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/3XHMwbveiznxSOGxN9XT0M - Google Podcasts: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5tZWdhcGhvbmUuZm0vc3Rhci13YXJzLXRhbGs - Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-reel-rejects-tv-movie-recaps/id1616339990 - Audible: https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Apocalypse-Podcast/B08JJP58FG Ask Us A QUESTION On CAMEO: https://www.cameo.com/thereelrejects Follow GREG On INSTAGRAM & TWITTER: INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/thegregalba/ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/thegregalba PLAYLISTS: Trailer Reactions & Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw9ZsLdoAQFpx38s2hhyFgDe Movie Reviews: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw-comtadVs8b9JsZEWHUyr8 Sketches & Short Films: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-bIhJVeYWw_zWuTRfBOUP3aYyIYRzc2y

My favorite underrated meta line is when they’re leaving the station, Tatum yells to Dewy “The Janitor is your superior!” And then the Janitor at school is played by Wes Craven who is technically David Arquette’s superior.

Matthew Lillard was cast as Stu Macher by chance after accompanying his then-girlfriend to an unrelated audition taking place elsewhere in the same building. Casting director Lisa Beach saw Lillard in the hallway and asked him to audition for the part. He got into the role with "incredible ferocity".

The famous blood wipe on the knife Ghostface is known for. Was the stunt man in the costumes idea. To avoid continuity errors with blood on the knife when there shouldn’t be.

The party scene near the end of the film runs forty-two minutes long. It was shot over the course of twenty-one days from the time the sun set to the time it rose. After it wrapped, the crew had t-shirts made that read "I SURVIVED SCENE 118" (which was the name of the scene during shooting). The cast and crew jokingly called it "The longest night in horror history."

Drew Barrymore originally auditioned to play Sidney, but she chose to play Casey because she thought it would be a great twist for the movie's biggest star to die in the first scene. It establishes that feeling that no one in the movie is truly safe.

I love the fountain scene at the beginning because it's Billy telling Stu to shut up which at first seems like he's being considerate of the girls or to stop joking about it, but in hindsight he's just telling him to not blow their cover
