How is the movie anti-religious? The main character is a deeply devout Catholic. I thought the scene where he takes the time to pray for the woman on the phone was very touching

Ben Shapiro not understanding why the Priest would not use the diamond and take all the money is hilarious. The whole point is that it is the apple and would corrupt anyone.
The film literally starts with Jesus Christ REMOVED from the church, because just like in his faith, Monsignor Wicks replaced Christ with his own personal grievance story. And the film ends with Father Josh literally putting Jesus Christ back into the heart of the church. How dumb one has to be to not get the message?
You keep proving, again and again, that these movies are too sophisticated for you to understand.
Ben… literally the second time you watch the movie you WILL SEE all the clues and they are hidden so well in plain sight so they did a great job in hiding them but if you go to look you’ll see all the clues tie together. For example, you can see the devil mask on the back of clock before Wicks enters the room, you can hear the flask fall on the ground when he falls, you can see Martha drink the poison before her final confession, etc…
I heard the review wasn’t great but I want to genuinely believe this is rage bait because if this is Ben’s actual opinion, he’s missed the whole point of the movie. Yes, it’s a murder mystery, but the portrayal of the characters and setting are both major components to the plot and are commentary to real world topics that is handled really well. It’s fine if he didn’t like the film, that’s his opinion, but him basically saying “this movie is bad” as a fast, then there’s a reason he’s not a film critic.
The diamond also symbolizes how money can be corrupting. Interesting that Ben missed that.
TLDR Ben hates this movie because he didn’t see the ending coming
