The fact that he says "I'm not a mathematician so I don't know about that" is so refreshing. I feel like Ryan and Crystal are taking the opposite approach in this interview, they don't really know about Computer Science, but are taking all of the claims presented about AI completely at face value.

The Turing test always assumed that AI would need to become smart enough to fool a human. It failed to account for humans becoming dumb enough to fail on the human side.

Breaking points seems to really want to hype the idea that AI is superintelligence, but every indication is that it is not.

Cory Doctorow is completely right, AI is being used to curbe the workforce, instill fear, prevent wages to go up, prevent unionization, break workers solidarity by fear. What LLMs and agentic AI produce is crap that has to be fixed by workers.
