Judge Brian Murphy found that Kennedy illegally fired all 17 members of the CDC's vaccine advisory committee and replaced them with a panel where only 6 of 15 had any real vaccine expertise. The court ruled the changes were arbitrary and capricious, and put every decision the new panel made on hold. The Trump administration's lawyer argued Kennedy's authority was "unreviewable" — even if it meant recommending Americans catch measles instead of getting vaccinated.
