Trump Frees GOP Congressman CONVICTED of Securities FRAUD!!!

Attorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian cover Trump's full pardon of former Rep. Steve Buyer, the Indiana Republican convicted by a jury on four counts of securities fraud for insider trading. Buyer learned about the $26.5 billion T-Mobile-Sprint merger from a T-Mobile executive on a golf course, bought $568,000 in Sprint stock, and made $126,000. In a separate scheme, he bought over $1 million in Navigant Consulting shares after learning his client Guidehouse was acquiring the company, pocketing another $227,000. He spread the trades across accounts held by his wife, son, cousin, and a friend. He was sentenced to 22 months, ordered to forfeit $354,000, and the Supreme Court rejected his appeal without comment in May 2026. Trump's pardon came with no explanation. Brian and Shant note this is the first pardon since the Iran war started, and the broader pattern: Trump keeps pardoning wealthy people convicted of financial crimes, sending a message that loyalty buys an insurance policy. Brian flags rumors of a July 4th "Pardon Palooza" where Trump may issue up to 250 clemency orders on the country's 250th birthday, burying the worst ones in the volume.
