The US has other assets that could have shot down an incoming ballistic missile besides the GBI (Ground Based Interceptors) featured in the movie. It really isn't realistic to think that the whole arsenal of GBIs is just 50 missiles. Redundancy is the mantra. There are backups of backups in the whole chain. The movie didn't even talk about the Patriot missile system or the THAAD ( Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) system. The THAAD could have intercepted the incoming ballistic missile in its terminal phase. I understand it is a movie. It is not real life.
Secretary of War is not a thing.
Not in the least comforting to hear this dude refer to the 'Secretary of War' - - especially since the official name IS STILL the Department of Defense no matter what whisky Hegseth calls it!
He should have said dept of defense, not war
