Gemini will forget your notebook like any other attached document, and it's also static. If you have Google Docs as NotebookLM sources, make updates to them, then update in NLM, Gemini will not see the changes. You have to re-attach it. Also, in my experience, getting Gemini to actually use the attached notebooks is very difficult. It will hallucinate before reading the notebook sources most times and it's hard to separate fact from fiction.

I started learning about gemini today. As someone who pays lots of attention to AI and LLM's im amazed by googles interconnectivity and tools. it may not be the smartest but that goes a long way

This is a really important upgrade for Gemini. As an HOA treasurer, I use notebooks for minutes and financial data, but each one has source limits. Being able to attach multiple notebooks removes that constraint and lets Gemini pull from a much larger pool of information for research. That’s a big deal for real-world use.
