I have been listening to you for about 2 years now. I have gone far back to your beginning work, and let me tell you that your voice has maturned (in a good way 😅). It sounds so much soothing, and helps me sleep at night. Thank you❤
Climbing into bed right now! Thanks, Joel ❤💤😴

Just to add in story 5, for Otto Warmbier, the only reason NK gave him back was mainly because of Joseph Yun, the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy, and I genuinely believe this man NEEDS to be named considering how hard he fought for Otto and didn’t give up the entire time. Obviously this is just short story tellings and not a documentary and whatnot so it’s fine you didn’t name him, but it’s also why I decided to comment this. Joseph Yun’s work to get Otto Warmbier released was absolutely RELENTLESS. For months, North Korea ignored him, gave almost NO information, and only engaged when it suited them and even then it was all incredibly vague and dodgy. They weren’t cooperating whatsoever and Joseph Yun quickly realized he was simply not going to get anywhere with them like this — they were controlling the narrative, deciding what he could know and when (going silent months at a time). But Joseph refused to give up. He pushed constantly and exhaustively through every channel he currently had available in his arsenal: the UN in New York, Swedish diplomats who could access Otto in Pyongyang, and neutral countries like Norway that could host secret, unofficial meetings between countries. He had to meet people to meet more people and then meet the RIGHT people in order to finally get an in person meeting with a North Korean official and even then it took multiple meetings like this to get any information at all. They were basically just wasting his time and dodging any actual answers towards Otto. But he kept showing up, kept the pressure on, and made it VERY clear he would not walk away or drop the issue. It was only because of his intensive persistence that North Korea finally realized that continuing to withhold the truth was more dangerous than telling it the longer they let it go on. That’s when they disclosed Otto’s coma — not out of goodwill, but because Joseph Yun’s consistent pressure and authority made them finally crack. From coordinating allies in secret to traveling in person, pushing MONTHS for even the SLIGHTEST access, and refusing to bury the issue, Joseph literally fought every step of the way and is the reason Otto was eventually brought home. He was traveling constantly that entire year and worked his ass off to bring Otto home.
