MAGA Hit with ULTIMATE REVENGE as ARREST BACKFIRES!!!

Attorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian are joined by civil rights attorney Greg Kirakosian to break down the case of Larry Bushart, a 61-year-old retired Tennessee police officer and former Marine who spent 37 days in jail on a $2 million bond for sharing a Facebook meme. After Charlie Kirk was assassinated in September 2025, Bushart posted a meme featuring Trump's quote "We have to get over it," which Trump said in 2024 after a school shooting at Perry High School in Iowa. Bushart captioned it: "This seems relevant today." Perry County Sheriff Nick Weems had him arrested under Tennessee's felony mass violence statute, claiming the meme threatened Perry County High School in Tennessee, a school 500 miles from the Iowa school referenced in the quote. Weems later admitted he knew from the start the meme referred to Iowa. Bushart didn't create or alter the meme. He just shared it. He lost his post-retirement job, missed his wedding anniversary, and missed the birth of his granddaughter. Prosecutors dropped the charge after five weeks. FIRE represented Bushart in a federal civil rights lawsuit, and Perry County just settled for $835,000. Greg Kirakosian, who has tried similar wrongful arrest cases, says the settlement was light given the facts and that his firm has won nearly half a million dollars for a client jailed only three days under comparable circumstances.
