Plot twist: ChatGPT uses DeepSeek R1 for reasoning.
It's a dog-eat-dog world, and the thieves are beginning to point fingers.
UPDATE: Within minutes of clicking publish, OpenAI launched o3. Announcement on X here: https://x.com/OpenAI/status/1885406586136383634
if OpenAI thinks they are better, why didn't they train ChatGPT on their own output? For me as a user, the more AI the merrier, let them get down in price, competition works!
It had me at FREE.π
Just imagine that the DS was trained on the data of the OpenAI, but they made it so that their model is equal to the same model as the OpenAI and offer it for free! That is, the model was trained well on the data of another model, but it did not steal the source code of the AI, they have their own algorithm of everything... It seems to me that the US is simply trying to protect itself by saying that they stole it and not that we could not come up with another training algorithm and just give us your money in tons, we need it... At this stage, the US is losing the AI ββrace and it's time for them to admit it and no tariff plans for $200!
R1 has six main advantages: *1) it gives you the reasoning behind its thoughts, you can find and tell it to correct it's mistake if you find one 2) it is much more DEPLORABLE it's like when they first invented Personal Computer PC!! You don't have to have a huge Data center or large amount of GPUs to run it, in fact, you can even run it on your phone without internet 3) it is cheaper and faster of course 4) most of all it is free 5) open source so you can open you can edit it update it any way you like 6) much less energy intensive training less greenhouse gas same reason why a lot of the nuclear companies start crashed 20%* Any of the reasons above should be a game changer by itself but combination of five you got a stock crash like yesterday
What a month! In future videos, would you be able to have an on-screen icons maybe at the bottom that state whether the AI you're talking about is Online/Local, as well as paid/unpaid? I enjoy listening to these videos, but often find myself wondering whether I can run locally or not/etc. There are so many to try out, so this would help me decide which to look more into without leaving your video.
Got my o3. Yay competition!
The opensource Linux had helped to build the Internet in the 90s of last century, and it worried Microsoft, Sun and Novell at that time.
