Description

Jaby & Achara continue their journey with The Boys Season 5 Episode 8, diving straight into the escalating chaos as the battle between corrupt superheroes and those trying to expose them becomes even more dangerous and personal. These early episodes set the tone for the season with higher stakes, shifting alliances, and deeper consequences, giving first-time viewers and longtime fans plenty to react to—from shocking moments to character-driven tension. This reaction captures their real-time responses to the darker direction, unpredictable twists, and how the story continues to push boundaries compared to previous seasons. The series is developed by Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Timeless, Revolution, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, Supernatural Season 1–5) and based on the comic by Garth Ennis (Preacher, Hellblazer, The Punisher MAX, Crossed, War Stories), starring Karl Urban (Dredd, Star Trek, Thor: Ragnarok, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Doom), Jack Quaid (Scream (2022), Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Star Trek: Lower Decks, Logan Lucky), Antony Starr (Banshee, American Gothic, Outrageous Fortune, Cobweb, Wish You Were Here), Erin Moriarty (Jessica Jones, True Detective, Blood Father, Captain Fantastic, Driven), Laz Alonso (Avatar, Fast & Furious, Jumping the Broom, Detroit, Traffik), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, The Covenant, Inheritance, Eloise), Dominique McElligott (House of Cards, Moon, Hell on Wheels, The Guard, Leap Year), and Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, Smallville, Batman: Under the Red Hood, My Bloody Valentine 3D, Dark Angel). ___________________________________________________ We've got merch! Terror couldn’t handle the news about Homelander

I ALMOST felt sorry for Homelander but I had to remind myself who the character is. He went out so pitiful. 😂

Homelander offering Butcher a shapeshifted Becca was deeply tragic because it revealed he could not truly appeal to the human emotion. In fear, he grasped for anything that could save him from butcher, from dying, but found nothing, so he reached into himself and offered the only form of “connection” he understood, imitation. To him, even a copy, even an illusion, could soothe loneliness and pain. That’s heartbreaking. It reminds us that Vought psychologically engineered him into an alienated, broken man-child who coped through depraved substitutes because real human connection was stolen from him from birth. From lasering himself out of his mother’s womb like a demonic-creature, to being raised in laboratories, conditioned, manipulated, deprived of love, and finally depowered and begging by saying he would blow butcher, or eat his faeces live on television. John’s life was a curse engineered by Vought. Homelander the monster deserved to die, but John, the child beneath the monster, never deserved the life forced upon him. That is the tragedy of Homelander.

I love that Homelander said they needed him so they wouldn’t worship someone who was “stripped of their dignity, tortured, and killed.”

Terror was having hallucinations so that was a sign he was dying I suppose, and that the had a whole episode to himself towards the end in his POV. I knew there was a reason.

Homie died like Frenchie and A-Train said. Like a scared little boy. Butch beat his butt because Butch was an actual soldier and Homie only had his powers.

“The Bible ever heard of it?” is one of the best lines of the finale 😂
