A very vindicating read. Researchers with a conscience have felt this in their guts for a long time. Karen is an excellent technology communicator! Brilliant book
Humanity is killing itself with convenience, laziness, and greed. Analog life is calling. Will you answer?
Using fresh potable water to cool computers or water lawns is incredibly stupid. What a waste.
What a brilliant discussion. Thank you. Looking forward to reading "Empire of AI" by Karen Hao.
Love the longer form interview. I wish we could get more of these from Democracy Now on YouTube. The way you have to constantly cut interviews short should be a thing of the past at this point in online media.
Why are there not more journalists like her?! Thank you for all you do at Democracy Now
She is absolutely right. It’s theft
"If you want to see a vision of the future, imagine a boot stomping on a human face—forever." ~George Orwell, '1984'
“This is why you can’t have nice things.” - Ted Kaczinski
I just started the book, I'm already hooked and afraid. Hao is truly a clear, concise, communicator making complex things understandable. Her intellect, good humor, and inspiring redirection serves as vehicle to remind us that the awe of technology that we swoon at obscures the God of Greed, Deception and Destruction behind the curtain. Read the book, plant a garden, then Just Say No!
