Hegseth promising to stop drinking when he takes office sounds like when Trump promised not to play golf as President. "I'll be too busy!" he said.
Alcoholics who haven't taken responsibility for their condition always promise but never carry through.

As an alcoholic with 8 years sobriety. Ha ha....your just going to snap your fingers & stop. Doesn't work that way. It's a long painful process!!!!!
