When a broadcast network gives free, non-news political time to one candidate, it potentially violates the Equal-Time Rule (or Equal Opportunities Rule). Enforced by the FCC, this rule mandates that if a radio or television station allows one candidate to use their airwaves, they must offer equivalent, free access to opposing candidates. Because that's what Jimmy is he's just an hour of DNC television every night pushing their politics and hiding behind comedy to do it.
