If u want an unbiased and fair take on this from an outsider.... You DONT have a golden generation at all and ill explain why. 1. Your players might be in europe, yes, but most of them are NOT even close to important for their club teams. None of them are the "main guy" , theyre rotation players mostly. So yes, in europe, but NO, NOT at the level of other teams. Other teams have players who ARE the main guys for their club sides. No offense, and they all did great, but I had never heard of Tillman or Freeman before this. Dest would be considered average at best. I know Adam's who is an okay ish premier league player but NOT a great prem player. Mckinnie is okay for Juve but NOT the main guy. Pulisic is literally the most overrated player globally. Chris Richards is actually class at palace. Tim ream is laughable. Your keeper is like a high school level for these other international teams. No hate at all, but a golden generation is where all the players (or most) are BORN WITH THE BALL AT THEIR FEET and they actually make waves in the world of soccer. I'm not an American and actually wanted Belgium to win but you were a bit hard on USMNT IMO: I wouldn't downplay the impact that the Trump controversy had on them, not to mention the chip on the Belgians' shoulders to elevate their play. Also, population is somewhat irrelevant. Winning a World Cup is like capturing lightning in a bottle. Brazil has a population close to the U.S.'s; they're the most successful nation of all time, and their people live and breathe football, but they haven't come close to winning one since 2002, despite having had some great players during that period. They lost to Norway, a country with 5 million people. Prior to the Belgium game, the U.S. played some very good, positive football. It wasn't their best World Cup in terms of stage reached, but there's an argument that they put in their best performances. I'll be interested to see what players come through off the back of this in 10-15 years.
