Geology Warning: Venezuela Was Just The Beginning...

Stephan, I’m a Venezuelan and I heard a physicist explained that is not that the buildings were not well built but that the waves came from up and down and side to side simultaneously. He showed things that were hanging showing circular motion movement instead on side to side or up and down during the quake videos. He said that no building can sustain that force.

Hi Stefan! My name is Monique, and I live in Caracas, Venezuela. My family and I are ok, but what has happened is devastating to all of us. We are helping in any way we can. Now, I'm going to describe what we felt: to start with, a small vibration was felt around the house, then it started shaking, but not that strong. I was coming down the stairs to get a cup of water and heard the noise coming from the gates of the house, and then I saw one of the paintings going side to side. I called my kids and told them to go to the garden. By the time we got to the garden, the stronger earthquake hit, and it was incredibly strong. I have felt tremors, but nothing like this. The big tall pine trees moved so hard side to side that I thought they were going to fall. The shaking lasted for more than a minute. Thankfully, our house is intact, and we are safe. Please pray for Venezuela, and thank you for keeping all of us informed on what's going on on Earth. Love and be safe! VE

When my mom was doing genealogy as a kid, one of our ancestors in Missouri wrote in her journal about the earthquake at the new Madrid fault line and mentioned the rivers flowing backwards and was completely bizarre.

The situation in Venezuela is harrowing. Seeing buildings partially standing with collapsed floors on top knowing there are likely people trapped inside but up several stories, how are rescuers going to get to them? So sad. God be with them.
