In this video, we discuss one of the most harrowing moments a warfighter can face. Chris, a SEAL Team 6 sniper, found himself engaging the enemy during a mission to protect his team, only to later discover that he had taken a child's life—a moment that haunted him for years. This podcast is the one that changed my life. I didn't serve, I'm blind n one eye and couldn't serve. I wish I was born different. I went down a different path because of this OXY at 15, coke and OXY at 16, kicked out at 18. Homeless from 18 to 23. January 10th 2020 I got sober. Never did understand how a podcast changed anyone's life. Today is January 10th, 2025 and this is the one that change my life. This guy had me in tears, I listened from beginning to end. The trauma from robbing, stealing and doing drugs because I didn't have a dad hit home. I thank Shawn for hosting this man for giving my life a different perspective.

My cousin accidentally killed a child also when he was in falluija. Enemy grabbed up a kid as he entered a room and took them both out. It’s been with him ever since. It’s almost like he has a flashback anytime he sees my daughter. He just picks her up and cry’s. Breaks my heart.

One of the most difficult 30 minute interview to watch. I thank that man for his service and may the prayers of the entire SRS community be offered for him. He's not only a true warrior but a better human being.

Thanks for serving in Team 6. That’s really difficult to achieve and you have to make a lot of tough decisions out there. Thank you for your hard work and dedication and sacrifice to keep the homeland safe.

Some guys come back missing their legs , some guys come back missing their soul . The fact that this bothers him so bad shows he is of good moral character. I pray that he truly finds peace .

As a former Army sniper myself, you have to ask yourself (assuming the child met all ROE requirements) "did I have MALICIOUS intent against the child?" NO? It was not a sin. It was war. I strongly recommend investigating the Theological doctrine of "The age of accountability" as well as asking YHWH for healing. Also pray against the enemy (ask friendlies to call for fire as well) to minimize the enemy's using it against you. Yes? There is forgiveness through Jesus and GENUINE repentance (Greek: metanoia = "shooting a new azimuth for navigating life"). Thank you for your service. I hope this is helpful to someone and may the LORD bless you and keep you.

I was apart of JTF-6 mission while in the Marines in 1998. A kid was “accidentally killed” on the border named Hernandez Martinez. It’s been over 27 years and got PTSD very bad from being apart of that mission. Every time I see pictures of the Southern Boarder I get extreme flashbacks to where I can smell the landscape. It was one of the most scariest moments of my life. Been in therapy 6 years now but doing better!

Chris didn't put those kids in harms way. But it's the humanity in him that still feels guilty for something he wasn't guilty of despite being involved in it. He needs to be able to forgive himself and believe he deserves to be forgiven.
