Driven To Kill | “48 Hours" Full Episodes
Wine Country Murder and a Doctor's Deadly Plot
Uncover the dark side of ambition in Napa Valley where wine dreams turn fatal, and track the chilling premeditation behind a doctor's plot to eliminate two obstacles using an elaborate sting operation.
Short Summary
- Analyze how Robert Dah leveraged initial trust, used $800,000 in cash, and ultimately murdered investor Immord Topilis over broken business deals.
- Detail the intricate police sting that utilized undercover officers to successfully entrap Dr. Leon Jacob and his girlfriend Valerie McDaniel in soliciting the murders of their respective ex-partners.
- Examine the evidence, including prior criminal records and incriminating audio recordings, that led to convictions in both high-stakes investigations.
This report synthesizes findings from two separate "48 Hours" segments: a California wine dispute ending in homicide, and a Houston murder-for-hire scheme rooted in infidelity and control. Readers will gain insight into patterns of financial deceit, the breakdown of trust, and investigative techniques used to capture sophisticated criminal plots.

*For Dahl's attorneys to say he is not a crook is preposterous. He is a convicted felon and jailed twice.*
Robert Dahl was a lowlife, greedy scumbag conman. He moved to Napa Valley to start his next scam after running out of victims where he came from. His playbook was classic, build fake friendships, pretend to be trustworthy, then go straight for their money. Once the cash hit his hands, it vanished. That was his entire life, living off shortcuts, scams, and the hard-earned trust of honest people he swindled without a shred of remorse.
The lawyers did a poor job. These men shouldn't have a meeting scheduled to attend by themselves, it's one of the reasons you hire lawyers(to mediate the disagreement).
The first two are new to me, and I've watched hundreds of 48 Hrs episodes. Yay!
How do people partner with others in business deals and not do a background check?!
Emad saved a lot of people by calling the cops as he was running for his life.
The lawyers who supported the conman prove that lawyers can be stupid too.
Wow. Dahl’s lawyers are so naive they come off as really dumb.
"A thief doesn't go to court". What kind of mental gymnastics does that take to even think that, let alone say it out loud?? 🤦♀️
2nd story. None of Pam's grown children attended their Moms trial. Wow
