Louisiana native here, I've seen many of these in person. Beautiful homes with a lot of sadness behind them.

America's Castles: Originally broadcast on A&E in the early 90's, when A&E was good.

I went to Oak Alley. It was very beautiful, the house was quite large and the grounds were pretty. However, I felt waves of deep sadness come over me, when we were standing outside walking around. There was a presence there, an energy of hurt and suffering and death. There was one very large tree in particular that drew me in; the stories it holds.
