In case anyone else just wants to get right to the point: She was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Judge declared her incompetent to stand trial. She was sent to a mental health facility. Could be tried at a later time,

I have a close family member with schizoaffective disorder and she can be a completely normal person for months at a time and then all of a sudden for a few months she’s insanely paranoid, has delusions, she sees things or thinks she sees things, hears things, and she completely thinks that someone has bugged her house or a random person or even family remember or friend is planning to hurt or and kill her and she can get violent. And then months later when she’s out of it, she doesn’t remember much of it and she is the sweetest person. It is so incredibly upsetting knowing someone with this disorder and she didn’t start having any symptoms until she was in her late 20s. Her and another person I know have gone into full psychosis, and usually when they are in full psychosis, they don’t remember a single thing or barely anything that they said or did during that time, which is really scary and sad, especially if they were violent.

_In terms of her looks. We should have more compassion. Clearly some mental health issues and or substance abuse at play if someone let’s themselves go like that 😢_

It’s really scary in the US right now there is no mental health care long term and short term care can just worsen the mental illness- it’s terrifying that rich or poor there are so few choices for the families of those with serious mental illness - it’s absolutely inhumane the little resources there are for severely mentally ill people and their families. We need long term care and better treatment facilities that actually treat them instead of just temporarily locking them up And escalating the situation.

She said she stabbed her mother to save herself... Schizophrenia creates a terrifying false reality where those who love you most become your worst enemies.
