Nathan, as a SaaS guy who left to get into SEO (the reverse of what you did LOL) I am just listening here and I think you have to ask this fundamental question about your app because the problem might not be what you think it is - its about the value of the software over time - without knowing a ton about the app it sounds like the value might be heavily front loaded where I use the content analysis app and fix all my issues across a whole site and so the app is totally worth it, in fact its a deal - but after that the price might seem high if all I am doing is adding 2-3 pages a month or I already came up with a 12 month content plan so my interactions were a spike followed by a long low tail. This might make you think about selling it only annually or asking folks to guarantee 6 months of comitment or MAYBE the app isn't "finished" yet because you built more of a killer feature than an app and you need another feature that gives constant and steady utility over the long haul. They come for one thing and then stay for another. Ask whats the apps vaule is in month 1 and then again in month 12 - can you make the value steady or even better, can you make it compound?
When I started out in my career, your videos were some of the first ones I ran into, 10-15 years later I work for one of the largest agencies in the world, and I can say that they don't care. I ended up starting my own agency, and I would never, in any scenario risk allowing an agency build the software we need and use for our own clients. I still send people to your videos when they're learning about SEO, or trying to keep up on the trends. My only wish is that I could share more with my community with the journey that it took to get here. Document everything, the highs, the lows, the tears, and the wins. The story will inspire people to trust you and your team more than the quality of the product ever will. The part that you said "no one will care as much as you", it's a tough pill to swallow, but I would in my personal experience say that over the last 4+ years of building AI/SEO software for agencies, I've found that two out of fifty people care more about the ideal/vision/purpose/goal, than the money.
