The Chargers started it off with a 37-10 shellacking of the Vikings. I was 13 in 1970, it was my first year of being interested in football. I played through high school, and thought about trying to play in JuCo, but teams weren't interested in a 5-10 135lb WR/CB who ran a 5.0 40.

That high school game Alexandria could've just had their QB run the length of the field and take a safety to burn those last 11 seconds off the clock because they were up 8pts so allowing a 2pt safety meant nothing. The Indiana Hoosiers QB Mendoza just did that a few weeks ago.

18:00 the game usually ends on an offensive penalty if clock is at 00:00 because the defense would just decline the penalty. In this case if the defense declined it would've been a TD, therefore they had to enforce the penalty. At least that's how I understood it
