As a funeral director I can confirm that we file the paperwork with social security within a few days of the death. The claim that there are millions of dead people still getting paid is ridiculous

Harvard educated Rhodes scholar, McKinsey trained consultant, army reserve veteran, mayor, presidential candidate, and cabinet official. This dude is the real deal.

I'm a pretty regular viewer of Flagrant, and this has to be one of the best real interviews I've seen with a politician here. The real down to earth and grit questions and answers that happened here is what we need in a broader scale. Yeah, Trump as a guest might yield a better view count, but guys... this is what we all need. I can't imagine Trump answering these same questions and the dialog being as packed with info and understanding. Thanks for doing this show. Sincerely, A true moderate

I love how Andrew will say something wild, and Pete will chuckle for a sec and is a little uncomfortable, but will reel the convo right back in with so much ease.

The contrast between Petes' vocabulary and the president's is insane. It even goes down to the president's cabinet, too. Literally 0 insults to anybody regardless of political affiliation.

I have a friend who worked for mayor Pete in the department of transportation. He said he was the best boss he ever had.

The most eye opening thing about this episode is that these guys have the capacity to push on politicians but kept that energy real quiet when trump was around.

As a conservative male (not MAGA), born and raised in TX, with a gay son, I have a great amount of respect for Pete. He's articulate and demonstrates gratitude and empathy. You dont see a lot of politicians like Pete on either side of the isle. This was a good conversation.

Not to glaze Pete too much but, having a government official speaking so openly and passionately about public transit was a breath of fresh air bc we are SO BEHIND the rest of the world when it comes to a comprehensive transportation network between and within states.
