TOP 5 DINOSAUR ARTIFACTS | Pawn Stars
Pawn Shop Valuation and Authentication of Dinosaur Artifacts
Uncover how experts authenticate prehistoric fossils—from bones and eggs to dung—and see the stark difference between sellers’ asking prices and the final negotiated values for dinosaur-related collectibles.
Short Summary
- Authenticating rare paleontological finds requires expert evaluation of cell structure and composition, distinguishing fossils from plaster casts or ordinary rock.
- Items like dinosaur eggs, despite great initial excitement, often plummet in value due to market saturation and artificial pairing.
- Vintage movie memorabilia (like Jurassic Park toys) retains value based on packaging condition and the specific rarity of included figures (e.g., non-retail releases).
- Fossilized coprolite's value is judged primarily on size and potential for lapidary work, rather than its raw historical status.
This compilation showcases four distinct transactions involving purported dinosaur remains and related collectibles. Readers will see how specialists distinguish genuine fossils from rock formations, highlighting conflicts between sellers' high expectations ($15,000–$40,000 ranges) and expert valuations ($500–$18,000).

I think Rick's life flashed before his eyes when he broke off that dinosaurs toe lol 😂
I've seen the juvenile Trex in box go for $800 once. The dude who looked at those toys knew absolutely nothing about the value of those figures
I would NEVER sell any of those, especially not the dino leg
Man, I would never get rid of that dinosaur fossil from the first clip, especially since it was her grandfather‘s, I think. I’m just sentimental I guess and I love paleontology lol
The guy with the Jurassic Park toys, Shaun, is actually the owner of Dallas Vintage Toys store. Pretty awesome to see him on TV!

“You’ve never seen it for sale?” “I have no information on that one.” “How’d you get it?” “I bought it from another collector-“
As Indiana Jones said: That belongs in a museum!
"some1 tried making it look like a pair of eggs" anything to low ball their customers
The first seller says “its pretty old” that got me good lmao
