Honestly I think it's better for a guy to leave when he thinks the girl he's talking to is uncomfortable, rather than blow up at her or continue to push boundaries.

Riley’s mom is definitely the reason that Riley is a little AH.

Op in the first story made a decision for her 18 year old and then said “he is an adult so he can make he can make his own decisions” like huh are there any brain cells up there?

OP can hijack her son’s own birthday dinner celebration no problem but heaven forbid if someone cracks a joke due to her poorly chosen restaurant choice. Also not once has OP apologized for picking a bad restaurant or hijacking the dinner, not to mention that everyone was cracking jokes at her expense but her son (the birthday boy) is the only one getting shit for it. Way to ruin your son’s birthday, OP.

'am I the devil' is crazy for the last story. Dude thought he made her uncomfortable and then left. that's like objectively the right thing to do. if you make somebody uncomfortable while flirting, you leave. putting a cover on the drink while only one person is nearby is a signal of discomfort

I’m a female, but I would also think a person covering their drink right in front of me was a clear “I’m not comfortable around you” signal. If it was just about covering the drink she wouldn’t have waited until the guy approached her.

Don’t know how the last OP wound up on r/AmITheDevil, just as the lady at the bar is valid in keeping herself safe from creeps OP is also valid in not wanting to be made to feel like a creep. She’s a stranger at a bar, he doesn’t owe her anything even if she didn’t do anything wrong.

Oh that 3rd story boils my blood. I know the type of parent that woman is, and its the same ones that think their child does no wrong harassing workers and stealing from stores, and the police do nothing. Infuriating because I deal with it daily…

To be fair, in the last story OP was still pretty nice about it even if he was reading her wrong. He didnt confront her, he just assumed he was making her uncomfortable and excused himself. That interaction could have been so much worse, so its kind of nice that he tried to respect her feelings

“Next time I’ll keep my fucking mouth shut” Ok…..then keep your mouth shut “He’s an adult that can make his own decisions” THEN WHY WERE YOU MAKING THE DECISIONS FOR HIM YOU NIMROD?!
