I had Hantavirus last summer. Worst 2 months of my life and still in respiratory therapy. I’m in KY and took me quite a few weeks to get diagnosed. Doctors and hospitals said-Hantavirus is not in Kentucky. Incorrect! Always wear a respirator when cleaning out basements and areas that may have rodents! I got it from my barn. Silly me did not take precautions bc I didn’t even know what Hantavirus was! Good news is I survived and apparently I have 15+ years of immunity, albeit to that one strain. Anyway..stay safe my friends because knocking in death’s door is scary and just like the virus
I'm in Ireland. Two people who were on the ship were Irish. They didn't travel home on a commercial flight. They can home on a state plane into a army base, then transport them in a ambulance to a medical centre to quarantine.
And much like Stephanie Harlowe.. you will never get me on a cruise 😂😂😂
I think personally I am just frustrated with the fact that this wasn’t contained retroactively and it has now caused illnesses outside of the ship. Also call me a conspiracy theorist but I feel like given the history of attempting to not cause mass panic they wouldn’t tell us until it’s too late anyway. I’ll be keeping an eye on what is going on and I hope no one loses anyone else over this. My heart goes out to those who already have.
"...out of an abundance of caution, " makes me SO angry! NO! An "abundance of caution" would have been keeping ALL passengers on that ship until the incubation period was up. I don't care if they have families, lives, jobs, etc. When you're on a luxury cruise that - AT MINIUM - cost $7k in this economy, it's VERY difficult for me to have any sympathy for your "inconvenience". Stay put for the good of other people.
I don't trust the authorities. Just use common sense and protect yourselves and your loved ones by being careful. I agree with you Annie, I don't get why they allowed people to travel
