This is not a principled ban, I think it's pretty clearly a punishment for what Anthropic did to the administration earlier this year. So we probably shouldn't read into it this generally. Soon Google and OpenAI will create better models, and some judge will finally take down the restriction or Anthropic will rebrand Fable as Opus 5 or something and everyone will just forget about it.
That non national restriction is absolutely ridiculous.
