The problem is that too many schools punish those that fight back against the bullies and thats a big problem

Btw disagreeing with someone on the Internet doesn't amount to bullying as some idiots think and it is only doing a great disservice to genuine bullying victims

It is. I was mentally weak and didn't know how to stand up for myself. It didn't make me tougher, it made me depressed, angry and bitter.

I think the main difference between bullying today vs past generations is with the Internet and social media enabling bullies to continue tormenting their targets beyond school hours. This is especially true with girls. Male bullying is much more visible since it tends to be physical, but young girls can inflict immense damage to their peers by trashing them online. There's also a fine line between bullying and playful teasing. Kids today are so mollycoddled that they'll report incidents of so-called "microaggressions" as legit victimization.

“Back in the day” teachers could intervene when needed. I had a bully growing up, until my teacher got so annoyed with the kid that he picked up the kid and held him up against the wall and told the kid to leave me alone. That teacher ended YEARS of bullying and abuse in that one moment. Would have turned out so much differently today.

There’s bullying in private schools too. There’s bullying on sports teams. Heck there’s bullying in church. People have become self-centered, envious and mean spirited. It’s an epidemic.

The proboem with the bulling system is that the bully never gets in trouble but the instant the bullied retaliates they get crucified.

I got sucker punched in the head so hard I fell to the ground and was in tears back in middle school. Thats not just little bullying, that's quite literally a felony.

Bullying can be traumatic. It needs to stop but it never will.
