Removing shop and home economics from the classroom has doomed millions to debt and poverty
Thank you Mike for everything, since you left Austin is working at Codi manufacturing in the welding dept. Duke, Joe and Ben are working at Weifield, Jack is at Autonation Subaru, Isaac is starting work June 4th at a Mountain View windows and doors, 3 other are working at Patriot consulting doing cyber security stuff, and working on 3 more placements hopefully by the end of May.
For anyone wondering, this is Lauren. I am able to answer any questions you might have. It was so much fun. Mike, thanks for everything that you do. You are a friend and a mentor.
Hi Mike Rowe and Sara, I was the autistic cinematographer for the TACT episode of Returning the Favor in 2020. I would love to catch up and talk after the conversation I had with Mike Rowe in 2020. I’ve had success in the film industry since then and new projects in the works. I even taught a three month long film class at TACT! I hope all is well and thank you for supporting the autism community.
This is internet content that America can be proud of. Thanks to Mike Rowe and his foundation.
These schools need to be everywhere! Autism rates are the highest right now and these beautiful skilled people have so much to offer
Having 2 autistic children. My wife and I walked away from lucrative careers and started a small cleaning company and soap company to be there every second for our children. So I deeply appreciate and understand this story and message. Well done.
I am an autistic truck driver. As much as I love driving, I want to get into a different trade like woodworking. I have always loved Mike Rowe for his efforts and pushing the message for skilled trades, especially in the schools. THANK YOU!!!!!
As a mom of a adult child on the spectrum, I LOVE THIS! Folks on the spectrum tend to make the most reliable employees as long as you are patient and kind. TACT should have schools in EVERY STATE!
I'm autistic and a tradesman as a hat maker. I am also the proud godfather to 4 autistic kids. Seeing what this organization is doing is so heart warming and wonderful. We neurodivergent folk make wonderful tradesmen, we are hard working, passionate, and dedicated to doing things the right way. It is absolutely amazing seeing a community brought together and providing such valuable assets to an otherwise undeserved and often misunderstood bunch of people. Thank you Mike and your team for highlighting the tremendous things that TACT is doing.
