Pharmaceutical companies are not going to charge Americans any less just because they can charge people in foreign countries more. Imagine what that board meeting would even look like. "Now that we're making so much money outside of the US, we should make less money in the US." The CEO would be fired on the spot. Companies exist to maximize profit by charging what people are willing to pay, and people are willing to pay a lot to not die. The only thing that can bring prices down is government regulations on the prices. EDIT: Insulin is capped at $35 right now, and some of you are trying to convince me insulin is *actually more expensive* now because pharmaceutical companies can't charge $275 for it anymore, and somehow the taxpayers are actually paying the $240 difference plus extra (because without capitalist magic everything is more expensive) every time somebody buys a month supply of insulin.
One of the reasons Medicare budget is so high is because the drug companies, which got their products from universities that developed them using US taxpayers money, Medicare should get the drugs they use at the lowest possible price
"We're gonna build the pharma and Europe will pay for it."
Still waiting on Trump’s bigger and better replacement of Obamacare that he promised in 2016
This is why a single payer system works. These companies have one entity to negotiate with...imagine the entire USA working together to negotiate pricing instead of each insurance company, hospital and pharmacies buying on their own...wake up America...look beyond your borders for positives other countries are achieving and implement them into your lives!
I'm still not hearing Dems rallying in support of this and forcing the issue in congress. Hmmmm...
As soon as I heard it, I thought: pharma will increase prices overseas. Time to countries to ignore pharma patents.
When Trump says “in that respect, I defend big pharma” and then Krystal says “he will defend big pharma,” does that not draw a disingenuous picture of what he said?
Trump should check those pharmaceutical patents most are held here in Ireland
