It is not safe for women to be alone in remote areas like this. I hate that it's true, but this is the world we live in today. Please be alert, always carry a weapon if possible and know how to use it, pay close attention to your surroundings, don't get too close to strangers too quickly, and don't trust everyone you meet.
I hope that law enforcement finds out exactly what happened and justice is found for Sunny... my heart goes out to her loved ones.

i live in Maine and this random killing is rare, if that is what it is. We have our share murders but usually its domestic or people know the killer.
This kind of stuff makes me sick! Can’t go anywhere and be safe. He is your next door neighbor that did this!
Sunshine was one of my students in high school. She was a wonderful person, full of good humor, smiles, caring, and intelligence. Crawford Pond is a short distance from my home. I hope the killer is found.
