Husband Living ‘Double Life’ Strangles Pregnant Wife, Flees to Italy: Docs

The case against Lee Gilley, accused of strangling his pregnant wife, took a dramatic turn after authorities say he fled the U.S. ahead of his capital murder trial. Prosecutors allege Gilley killed his wife, Christa, whose death also claimed the life of their unborn child, while living what they describe as a “double life.” Despite being out on bond with a GPS monitor, officials say he tampered with the device and made his way to Italy, where he is now in custody.
