Amazing video. I always love videos when people share their learnings. I too had similar learnings when I became a manager. I'm a much better IC now. Managing the stress was something I failed at during that time I was the manager. Being an IC is where my talents lie. Growing people and challenging my listening skills were the two reasons that made me choose EM, only to realize, I can do it even as an IC without the added pressure. But one thing I often here people say when wanting to become Manager is that they think it will lead to faster promotions and career growth compared to IC. While my gut doesn't agree, I still don't have enough experience to really have an opinion. What has your observations been?
