Bronx activist Jose Vega — now running as an independent for New York’s 15th Congressional District — criticizes incumbent Ritchie Torres for strong pro-Israel positions, stock investments in defense contractors, and alleged indifference to Bronx needs. Vega tells guest hosts Russell Dobular and Keaton Weiss of the Due Dissidence show that he has released street videos showing many constituents don’t recognize Torres and uses those clips to argue Torres is out of touch and beholden to outside donors. Keaton, Russell and Jose discuss whether he should challenge Torres in the Democratic primary or run as an independent, with Vega leaning independent but open to a primary challenge if no one else steps up.
