Companies and governments had no issue outsourcing millions of jobs to the third world, to save money. What makes you think they will have any care about outsourcing to AI/robots?
Governments are seriously sleeping on the job. They will only ban AI from taking their jobs. By the time they react it will be too late.
That guy is a clear example of how policy makers and politicians are so disconnected from reality and how their non informed blind decisions impact society in a negative way
"Yes we should be worried about unemployment", says AI pioneer, entrepreneur and author
I keep hearing that AI will create many new jobs. But when you ask what those jobs will be, the answer is usually something vague like "humans in the loop." There is rarely any clear explanation beyond that. So the idea that AI will create lots of jobs seems more like a guess than a fact. This makes me wonder why we are allowing AI to grow so quickly without having clear answers about its impact. It feels like we are moving forward without really knowing where we are going. People also say that AI will free us from routine work so we can focus on creative work. But how many people actually have creative jobs? Millions of people earn their living through routine and structured work. If those jobs disappear, will there really be enough creative jobs for everyone who is displaced? Also, jobs are not just about money. Work gives people purpose, structure, and a role in society. It keeps people engaged and helps channel their energy in positive ways. If large numbers of jobs disappear, what will happen to all of that? This part of the discussion is often ignored. I worry that, in the future, we may regret how quickly AI was rolled out without enough thought about the consequences. I can easily imagine a future where many people lose their jobs, leading to frustration, social unrest, and instability. When I listen to many tech leaders talk about AI, I mostly hear vague statements. I do not hear enough concrete answers. Too often, it sounds like greed is driving the conversation more than concern for the long-term impact on society.
Governments will start to get concerned when they notice their income tax revenues begin to plummet 😒
Those pushing AI see dealing with the consequences as not their problem.
Even if we don’t lose the jobs, it will be used to drive wages into the ground, and in rich a few handful of people. Generational wealth will evaporate. Hope I’m wrong, hoping it all works out soon.
AI will lead to more money in the hands of fewer people. Just like the industrial revolution did. Just like the Internet did. All tax systems need a complete rework and this will only amplify that issue.
Companies with no social responsibility.
