It’s going to cut shipping time to Asia and give them direct access to South America’s resources. They’re basically investing in infrastructure to control trade routes long term, not just compete in the market.

The problem? Barely any ships qualify, so we end up exporting LNG overseas while Americans, especially on the East Coast, pay more for energy.
