There has been a lot of gun cultures worldwide that weren’t violent. Violence has nothing to doing to do with the amount of guns. It has everything to do with responsibility, respect, and education. It’s a social construct.
"What could possibly go wrong?" The anti-gunners said that when states starting passing shall issue concealed carry and then Constitutional carry. And guess what? NOTHING went wrong. The streets didn't turn into "the Wild West." People intent on hurting other people don't obey the law.
Just admit that you are scared of guns.
Funny, the one thing missing from all of those headlines you pulled up was "30 students unalived". Just because some legal gun owners do stupid shit sometimes doesn't make them less effective at saving lives. One other thing, the Tennessee law does require training for those carrying.
New Hampshire has the most lienent gun laws in the country. No permit is required to conceal carry. Everyone in NH has a gun!.. Everyone!! There is less gun violence in NH than almost any other state.
Defenseless is not how I want the people protecting our children.
We use guns to protect money, (Banks) and politicians. However, our most valuable resource our children are not protected by guns. That tells me that our society values money over the lives of children.
In Texas we didn’t even pass a law to do this. Schools just decided to do it out of instinct.
I have more faith in a teacher willing to take on the responsibility of carrying a gun than I do for the cops at Uvalde, and by extent, cops in general. I read a news story some time ago about an armed teacher in Utah saving a child on the playground from a would-be kidnapping. With that in mind, its really moronic to be mocking the idea of teachers being armed. Of all the school *incidents* we hear about, how many involve teachers being the aggressors? Maybe there's some, but I can't think of any out of all the ones I can name off the top of my head. Guns used to be something I never thought about, never considered. Until one day I found myself alone in a parking lot, confronted by a man high on God knows what, and he was... let's say, very enthused about the fact that I was of the female variety. Luckily another man was nearby and saw it, and came and saved the day... all without any violence, the mere presence of someone willing to do what is right can, indeed, be enough of a deterrent. But that was simple luck. Since then I've taken my safety into my own hands. People who are anti-gun, disgust me for this reason. Its not enough for them to be victims themselves, but they are intent on making the rest of us victims as well. I can only conclude that through all their posturing about keeping everyone safe, their intent is the exact opposite.
