Elon Musk recently posted to X/Twitter the controversial propostion that users of the site were the new journalists, and were in the process of supplanting traditional reporters and commentators. The statement was greeted with a lack of enthusiasm, to put it mildly, in quarters representing the traditional media. And no one was more exercised about it than MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, who railed against Musk and the very notion that everyday schmoes could do the important journalistic work he and his basic cable colleagues do.
