An active region on the Sun (designated 4366) has rapidly grown into a super-active monster that has already blasted off a 1.0 x-flare and more than 1 dozen m-class solar flares in less than 24 hours. By my estimation this sunspot cluster is already capable of producing a solar flare strong enough for a Carrington Event, and at the current rate of development and activity, the risk of that only increases, and the possible upper limit also increases.
