Judge Newman was the best part of the trial. Sick of Alex’s games. Don’t play adult games if you don’t want adult consequences.

So personally, I think Judge Newman said those things like. "but he committed an unforgivable, unimaginable crime. And there's no way that he'll be able to sleep peacefully", etc., etc., because the jury found AM guilty. If the jury had found him not guilty, I think Judge Newman would have said words to that effect that he was innocent etc.

There is nothing that is too low for Murdaugh and his lawyers.

I have a theory for Maggie's phone. She put her phone in his car expecting to ride back with him. After hurting them he went back to his house and when he left to go to his mom's, he calls her phone to provide an alibi. Her phone rings and he realizes he needs to get rid of it. So he throws it out the window as he's driving down the road. It wouldn't record steps since it's just in the car. It's speculation but possible.

I think Judge Newman has to be absolutely pissed that Becky’s actions have opened this can of worms and harmed a trial that he handled so well.

The thing is, how can you not form an opinion after viewing all the evidence? I think it would be a good idea for Newman to step down if there is a new trial but just because you think someone did it, doesn't mean you can't make neutral judgements on the law and procedures.

Becky Hill has a presumption of innocence and she has no history of lying, killing, or stealing from the vulnerable. This defense team has a history going on national tv, breaking prison rules, and inflating…at best…their arguments for their client. Even going so far as to stating all the jurors better get attorneys, which frankly could be juror intimidation, IMHO. They even filed in Fed court documents stating they we not seeking $$, but still have a motion seeking money for Murdaugh to pay them $&, they have not requested be dismissed. Soooo not a Murdaugh lie to a federal court, but a lie THEY told the court as said attorneys. Ummm yeah, I’m not buying anything those guys are peddling!

The Clerk is a staff member of this court and has acted inappropriately. In the abundance of caution for the security of justice, Judge Newman should go ahead and have this decided by another court. Right of wrong aside, I can definitely see how it could look unfair to the defense if Judge Newman denies a new trial due to the actions of his court's own clerk. It'd look like he was protecting her or excusing her behavior. Judge Newman's post-verdict statement praising the jury for their participation in the case doesn't seem that egregious. It sounds more like him viewing the decision correct because it is the decision they reached, not because it is one he wanted them to reach.
