Michael Knowles sits down with Father Benedict Kiely to expose the harsh reality of Christian persecution in the Middle East. From targeted violence and displacement to the destruction of ancient Christian communities, this conversation sheds light on a crisis that often goes overlooked. Father Kiely shares firsthand insight into what believers are facing on the ground—and why it matters now more than ever. This is a powerful and sobering discussion about faith, survival, and the cost of belief in some of the most dangerous regions in the world. Our priest mentioned this to us - the persecution of Christians - in his sermon today. Thank God our priests are finally speaking up.

Very interesting! Thanks Michael! As a Catholic, I liked Father's comment about, "...not wishy-washy, rainbow Christianity"

I just listened to "Onward Christian soldiers". I think we should sing more of the older songs to be reminded. This is a form of war.

I watched Tommy Robinson's trip in the USA. I think one thing he learned was how strong the American Christian conservative community is. I hope he takes what he learned back to the UK.

What about the persecution of Christians in the People's Republic of Ireland? Enoch Burke is a young Irish Christian teacher who has been in solitary confinement without a trial by jury for 700 days and has had his life's savings of over 60 K euro seized by the Irish state. His only crime was that he refused to acknowledge the they them pronouns of an autistic 15 year old boy at a Church of Ireland school. Not one church leader of any stripe has spoken up for Enoch Burke but only demonise him. The chaplain of Mount Joy Prison, a Catholic priest, has refused to speak with Enoch. To say that there are only 2 genders in Ireland is now considered a hate crime.

What a intelligent, hopeful priest, I could have listened to him the entire afternoon! And as a Catholic working in humanitarian aid, I also could not agree more with his approach at Nazarean: we should not be indifferent to our brothers and sisters in the East, and should target our support toward what really makes a difference and helps them have the option to stay with dignity and support their families and communities.

Europe is a tragedy in the making. It breaks my heart to see what they are doing to those beautiful countries. And I’m saying this, knowing that there has been antisemitism in Europe, obviously for millennia and I still hate to see what is happening.
